Survey: 96% of Businesses Considering Public Clouds

During Amazon Web Services’ recent re:Invent cloud computing conference, vendor Riverbed Technology conducted a survey of attendees. Among the 122 people polled, 96 percent said their organizations were either already using a public cloud service or were considering one; 53 percent were currently using a public IaaS. Among those who were not yet using the public cloud, 83 percent said they planned to do so within six months.

“Since this survey was at AWS re:Invent, I think it’s fair to say that the audience is more cloud-friendly and cloud-experienced than the mainstream,” acknowledged Riverbed’s Dormain Drewitz. “But that only means that their experiences are an indication of things to come.”
