Survey: DevOps Adoption Climbs 26%

If a new Puppet Labs survey of 4,000 enterprises is credible, devops, a practice that encourages tighter collaboration between developers and IT operations, is on the rise. The vendor found that 63 percent of those surveyed said their companies use some devops techniques, an increase of 26 percent from the previous year. The survey also indicated that companies who practice devops report that they deploy applications 30 times faster with 50 percent fewer failures than non-devops firms.

Supporting the Puppet Labs assertion that devops is on the rise, data from Indeed.com shows that job postings that include the term “devops” have increased 75 percent since last year.
