In can be difficult to make money on enterprise mobile apps because developers don’t have the same in-app purchase and advertising opportunities that make many consumer apps profitable. But cloud computing vendor Box wants to make it easier with a new program it calls Box $rev.
Under the program, Box will help enterprise and business customers find apps that utilize Box’s services. Every time Box customers adopt these apps, Box will pay the developers for the business derived from the app.
Ten apps—CloudOn, Notability, Documents by Readdle, PDFExpert, iAnnotate, Genius Scan, CamScanner, Outline+, GoodNotes, and SmartOffice—are currently part of the program. Interested developers can sign up on Box’s website if they would like to join.
