DreamObjects Cloud Storage Enters Production

DreamHost has announced that its DreamObjects cloud storage service is now available to anyone who wants to use it. The solution is built on top of the Ceph open source object and file storage system, which boasts excellent reliability and scalability. It also includes APIs that simplify data migrations to and from Amazon S3 and Swift.

DreamObjects is touting its easy-to-understand pricing as a key draw for developers. The service costs $0.07 per gigabyte of storage, plus $0.07 per gigabyte transferred out. For the first 30 days, customers can get 100GB of storage and 100GB of outbound transfer for free. The company also offers 50 percent discounts for those who pay for a year upfront, as well as 1 GB of storage for free if they use multi-factor authentication.
