A new report from AppAnnie holds good news for Android developers. Revenue for Google Play apps has increase 137 percent since January. While iOS developers still tend to earn more than Android developers, the gap is shrinking. Rajeev Nagpal from mobile development firm TinyCo reported, “Payer conversion, which we believe to be the final frontier on Android, is getting progressively better and is almost in kissing proximity to that of iOS platform.”
A separate GigaOm survey found that both iOS and Android are seeing increases in the number of developers targeting their platforms, but Android is increasing more quickly. In fact, Android interest is climbing twice as fast as iOS interest.
