IBM Announces New Watson Analytics Pro Service

IBM continues to add to its portfolio of Watson machine learning and analytics service, and Monday it launched Watson Analytics Professional. The new service allows multiple enterprise users to collaborate on analytics projects at once. It supports multiple data sources including IBM dbDash, IBM DB2, Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) API connectors for SQL databases, IBM SQL Database for Bluemix and IBM Cognos 10 business intelligence software.

The cognitive computing service allows developers and business users to analyze corporate data in a variety of ways. “Vastly different businesses are leveraging this powerful service for fast, strategic insights,” Alistair Rennie, general manager of Analytics Solutions at IBM, said. “With Watson Analytics, we opened up analytics to everyone within an organization, and with Professional we’re enabling them to now collaborate and connect to a wide range of important information.”

IBM said more that Watson Analytics has more than 40,000 registered users. The Personal edition of the solution costs $30 per user per month, and the new professional version costs $80 per user per month. The base version is free.
