Cloud computing vendor Jelastic has added containerization support to its IaaS/PaaS offering. The service supports two different container options: Docker and Parallels Containers for Windows. Ruslan Synytsky, CEO of Jelastic blogged that the company added the feature because they “noticed a high level of interest in containers from our customers, because it provides extreme flexibility for DevOps teams.”
Originally a Java-centric service, Jelastic now also allows developers to write PHP, Ruby, Node.js, Python, and .NET apps. Two well-known Java luminaries, James Gosling and Bruno F Souza, serve on the CoreOS advisory team.
