Microsoft Opens Azure Container Service to All Users

Microsoft has announced that anyone can now use its Azure Container Service. The cloud computing service was previously in a limited beta release. “The Azure Container Service makes it easy to create and manage clusters of Azure Virtual Machines pre-configured with key open source components,” said Corey Sanders, director of Azure Program Management at Microsoft. “This work couples Azure’s hyper-scale and enterprise-grade cloud with your choice of proven container technologies, Mesos + Mesosphere’s Marathon or Docker Swarm, to deliver the foundation needed for the orchestration service any team or company building container apps will want.”

Also, this week Azure announced that Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) is now supported. Microsoft had previously announced plans to support the popular Linux distribution last fall.
