Red Hat has announced that it is buying Ansible, a startup known for its software for managing hybrid cloud computing environments and for its DevOps tools. The companies did not disclose the purchase price, but other reports indicate it could be around $100 million.

Ansible has a great deal of expertise with the OpenStack open source cloud computing platform, making it a good match for Red Hat, which is also a leader in open source software development.
