Several recent studies shed light on the current state of cloud computing adoption in the enterprise:
- RightScale reports that more than 80 percent of enterprises have plans to distribute workloads across multiple clouds and about half are planning to deploy hybrid cloud environments.
- An Enterprise Strategy Group survey found that 57 percent of IT executives report that cloud computing complicates security, particularly for organizations with hybrid clouds.
- According to SkyHigh Networks, cloud service adoption is up 43 percent in the past year, and cloud development and collaborative services like GitHub and SourceFource are growing by as much as 97 percent.
Analysts say enterprises are still in the fairly early stages of cloud adoption.
