Xamarin has announced the release of Xamarin 3, the latest version of its cross-platform mobile development tools. According to the company, the update includes improvements in four key areas:
- Xamarin Designer for iOS, a new iOS development tool that uses a Storyboard format
- A new user interface builder called Xamarin.Forms
- Improvements to the IDE, including support for NuGet packages and F#, as well as better documentation
- Support for code sharing through Shared Projects
Xamarin 3 comes in several different versions. The least expensive is the free starter edition, and the most expensive is the Enterprise edition, which costs $1,899/year, per platform, per developer.
