The value of a date variable is 12:00:00 AM when it is not assigned. If a date is optional for the user input, this value is often saved to the database when the user does not enter the date value. When you get this value from database and assign to a date variable, you usually need to determine if the value is entered by the user in order to show it properly. You can check if the value is equal to “12:00:00 AM.” A more efficient way to use the following function:
