AWS Launches Dedicated Hosts Service

AWS Launches Dedicated Hosts Service

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is launching a new service called EC2 Dedicated Hosts, which will allow organizations to map their VMs to a specific physical server. That allows cloud computing customers to avoid sharing physical hardware with “noisy neighbors,” and it can also simplify compliance and licensing.

For organizations running a lot of VMs, the cost for a Dedicated Host isn’t a lot higher than the usual EC2 prices. For example, an M4 dedicated host in the U.S. East zone can host up to 22 instances for $2,195 per month. Buying 22 separate instances that aren’t on a dedicated host costs $1,995 per month.
