Google Launches Cloud Datalab and Cloud Shell

Google has announced the beta launch of two new cloud computing services for developers. The first is Cloud Datalab, a service that enables faster analysis of big data stored and processed by other Google Cloud services, including Google Cloud Storage, Compute Engine and BigQuery. It supports Python, SQL and JavaScript and “provides a ready-to-use, fully setup, secure, multi-user environment integrated with source control for developers and data scientists,” according to Greg DeMichellie, a director of product management at Google.

The second new tool is called Google Cloud Shell, and it provides a command-line environment for managing applications and VMs hosted on Google Cloud Platform.
