Microsoft Unveils Java SDK for Application Insights

At the EclipseCon development conference in San Francisco, Microsoft released a new application monitoring tool called Java SDK for Application Insights. Microsoft has previously released versions of Application Insights that allow developers to access performance data for some types of cloud-based and on-premise apps, and the new SDK extends that capability to nearly any Java application. With it, users can track response times, user requests and performance alerts for Java applications, as well as page views, session, return rates and browser types for Web pages.

Earlier this year, Microsoft released a separate Eclipse plug-in for its Azure cloud computing services that includes some similar capabilities as this new SDK.
