IBM has made several announcements related to its cloud computing services in recent weeks. It has opened three new IBM Cloud data centers in Frankfurt, Mexico City and Tokyo. It also has partnered with Equinix to expand its cloud services into nine more data centers in Australia, France, Japan, Singapore, The Netherlands and the United States. This brings IBM’s total roster of cloud data centers up to 40.
In addition, IBM has signed cloud computing contracts with a number of large enterprises, including Lufthansa, ABN AMRO, WPP, Woox Innovations, Dow Water and Thomson Reuters. In fact, since November 1 it has signed cloud computing contracts worth more than $4 billion.
