Android, iPad Top Charts for Mobile Ad Impressions

According to a new report out from Millennial Media, the Android operating system accounted for 56 percent of all impressions on mobile devices during the third quarter. However, when you rank the list by device manufacturer instead of by OS, Apple comes out on top with 28 percent of all mobile ad views. Its next closest competitor is Samsung with 16 percent of the market.

On the tablet side, Apple’s iPad has the clear lead, accounting for 97 percent of all U.S. tablet views. In fact, iPad ad impressions grew 456 percent over the same period last year.
