For some time, Brandon Watson headed up Microsoft’s interactions with Windows Phone developers, but February 6 will be his last day. Watson has confirmed that he has accepted a position with Amazon and will serve as Director of the Kindle Cross Platform team. About the move, Watson said, “It was a hard decision, but the opportunity placed in front of me that was too big to pass up.”
Numerous managers from Microsoft’s Windows Phone team have recently left the company, and at least one other former Microsoft employee, Mike Nash, is working on the Kindle team. Time will tell what impact the exodus will have on the company’s mobile development community.
