For months, Google has been promoting the idea of Web apps without making much headway — probably because Web apps don’t seem much different than Web sites. However, Mozilla’s new Web Application project may do a better job of explaining why Web apps could be the next big thing.
According to Mozilla, “Web Apps are applications that run on any device, and can be distributed through any store or directly by the developer.” Their new project includes a number of developer tools to create these apps.
