1. How To Carrier Unlock an iPhone

Carrier unlocking lets you use your iPhone with any wireless carrier instead of being locked to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc.

Check If Your iPhone Is Already Unlocked:

2. Scroll to "Carrier Lock" or "Network Provider Lock"
3. If it says "No SIM restrictions" — your iPhone is already unlocked

AT&T Unlock:

T-Mobile Unlock:

3. Requirements: device fully paid off, account in good standing, active for at least 40 days
4. T-Mobile unlocks automatically once requirements are met

Verizon Unlock:

Verizon automatically unlocks most devices 60 days after purchase. If your device isn’t unlocked:

1. Call 611 or contact Verizon support
2. Most Verizon 5G and 4G devices purchased after 2019 unlock automatically

After Carrier Unlock:

1. Turn off your iPhone
2. Remove the current SIM card

2. How To Unlock iPhone Without Passcode

If you’ve forgotten your passcode and are locked out:

Method 1: Erase From Lock Screen (iOS 15.2+)

After several failed passcode attempts:

1. A message appears: "iPhone Unavailable"
2. Tap "Erase iPhone" in the bottom corner (may take 5+ failed attempts to appear)
3. Enter your Apple ID password
4. The iPhone erases and restarts
5. Set it up as new or restore from a backup

Method 2: Recovery Mode via Computer

1. Connect your iPhone to a Mac or Windows PC with a cable
2. Put your iPhone into Recovery Mode:

Important: All three methods erase the iPhone. There is no way to unlock a forgotten passcode without erasing data unless you have a backup.

3. How To Remove Activation Lock

Activation Lock prevents anyone from using a stolen iPhone. If you purchased a used iPhone with Activation Lock:

If You’re the Original Owner:

1. Go to icloud.com/find
2. Sign in with your Apple ID
3. Select the device → "Erase" then "Remove from Account"
4. Activation Lock is removed

If You Bought a Used iPhone:

• The original owner must remove it from their Apple ID (icloud.com/find → Remove from Account)
• Contact the seller and ask them to remove it
• If purchased from a retailer, bring your proof of purchase to an Apple Store — they may be able to help
• There is no legitimate way to bypass Activation Lock without the original owner’s Apple ID

How To Unlock iPhone With Apple Watch

If you’re wearing a face mask or the Face ID camera is obstructed:

1. Go to Settings → Face ID & Passcode
2. Scroll to "Unlock with Apple Watch"
3. Toggle on your Apple Watch
4. When Face ID can’t recognize you, the Apple Watch vibrates and unlocks your iPhone automatically
