Amazon Web Services (AWS) has recently announced price cuts on many of its cloud computing services, and now it’s continuing the trend by slashing charges for its DynamoDB NoSQL database services. It has reduced the price for provision throughput capacity by 35 percent and the price for indexed storage by a whopping 75 percent.
In addition, the company has announced a new “Reserved Capacity” pricing model. Similar to the Reserved Instances it offers for some of its other cloud-based services, Reserved Capacity offers enterprises a discount if they pay in advance for a set amount of provisioned throughput.
AWS launched DynamoDB about a year ago. It runs on SSD-backed servers and boasts high reliability and scalability.
