During his keynote address to open this year’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), Apple CEO Tim Cook mentioned a number of key statistics about the company’s development platforms. It has paid out $10 billion to developers, including $5 billion this year alone. By comparison, that’s about three times as much as Android and all the other mobile platforms combined. In addition, he said the App Store now includes 900,000 apps, 375,000 of which are optimized for the iPad.
On the Mac side, the company claims to have 72 million OS X users.
