On August 6, BMC acquired an app distribution company called Partnerpedia. Although the deal is only a couple of days old, BMC has already rebranded Partnerpedia’s enterprise app store as BMC AppZone.
AppZone attempts to provide enterprise users with the same sort of app store experience as Google Play or Apple’s App Store. However, AppZone provides more than just mobile apps—it also offers access to cloud-based, desktop and custom applications. “Just think of it as a bigger, better app store than we had offered in the past, with more management features,” said BMC’s CIO Mark Settle.
