The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is making waves as the fastest and most powerful factory Corvette ever built. This high-performance variant can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds when equipped with the optional ZTK Performance package, which includes front drive planes, underbody strakes, a Gurney flap, a large rear wing, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires. Even without the ZTK package, the ZR1 remains incredibly quick, hitting 60 mph in 2.5 seconds and covering the quarter-mile in 9.7 seconds at 152 mph on 93 octane pump fuel.

The ZR1’s extraordinary performance is powered by a 5.5-liter flat-plane-crank V-8 engine that generates 1,064 hp and 828 ft-lbs of torque, surpassing the previous record-holder, the C7 ZR1, by over 300 hp and 100 ft-lbs of torque. The first 2025 Corvette ZR1 slated for retail production will be auctioned for charity during a Scottsdale event, running from January 18-26. NASCAR guru Rick Hendrick, known for acquiring coveted first-release vehicles, is expected to place a significant bid.

Corvette offers unprecedented performance package

Hendrick already boasts a sprawling collection of Corvettes, including numerous models with VINs ending in 001. In past auctions, he has purchased the first retail production C8, the first Z06 convertible, and the first of several other models, with each one selling for over $1 million.

The proceeds from this auction will go to the American Red Cross, and given the buzz around the new ZR1, this auction could surpass previous records. Chevrolet has even tested the ZR1 at the Nürburgring, although official lap times have yet to be announced. The C8 ZR1 is expected to start production early next year, and while the price has yet to be announced, it’s anticipated that the new range-topping Corvette could cost nearly double the E-Ray’s $106,900 starting price, particularly if opting for the ZTK Performance package.
