AWS re:Invent 2024 has brought a wave of new product launches and enhancements in AI, security, and storage solutions. AWS introduced the AWS Security Incident Response Service to help organizations manage security events.

It automates triage and investigation of security findings from Amazon GuardDuty and integrates with third-party threat detection tools via AWS Security Hub.

The service provides 24/7 access to security experts and supports various incident response phases. Amazon Bedrock, AWS’s AI platform, now supports Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) evaluations. This allows users to optimize RAG applications by assessing and comparing different configurations.

Bedrock Model Evaluation has also introduced LLM-as-a-judge for human-like quality assessments of models at reduced costs and time. Amazon Connect has received updates with generative AI and security features.

These include AI-powered customer segmentation, native WhatsApp Business messaging, secure collection of sensitive data during chat, simplified conversational AI bot management via Amazon Lex, and new analytics capabilities through Amazon Connect Contact Lens.

This allows users to manage tasks efficiently without switching between applications.

AWS launched the Amazon EC2 I8g instances, offering the highest real-time storage performance among storage-optimized EC2 instances. Powered by AWS Nitro SSDs and Graviton4 processors, these instances provide enhanced compute and storage choices. Amazon GuardDuty has been upgraded with advanced AI and machine learning threat detection capabilities.

It now identifies known and novel attack sequences, providing detailed summaries and mapping activities to the MITRE ATT&CK framework. AWS introduced the FSx Intelligent-Tiering storage class for Amazon FSx for OpenZFS file systems. This class offers automatic data movement between different tiers, leading to cost savings.

It is priced lower than SSD storage and traditional HDD-based on-premises deployments. These new offerings highlight AWS’s commitment to innovation and its ability to drive industry advancements. The company continues to solidify its leadership in the cloud services market, benefiting partners and customers alike.
