Borderlands 4, the highly anticipated next installment in Gearbox Software’s co-op looter shooter franchise, has revealed its PC system requirements. The specs have raised concerns among the gaming community, as over 50% of Steam users may not meet the minimum requirements. The minimum specs include an NVIDIA RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU, 16GB of RAM, 100GB of SSD space, and a CPU with eight cores or more.

This last requirement alone disqualifies more than half of Steam’s user base, as 50.39% have processors with six cores or fewer. Gamers with budget-friendly or mid-range systems may need to upgrade their CPUs just to run Borderlands 4 at its lowest settings. Those with high-end systems equipped with top-notch CPUs won’t face this barrier, but a significant portion of the community will need to upgrade.
