Dassault Systèmes has announced that its subsidiary, Centric Software, a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) leader, has signed an agreement to acquire Contentserv. Contentserv is a prominent provider of Product Information Management (PIM) and Product Experience Management (PXM) solutions. The enterprise value of the deal is approximately €220 million.

Contentserv provides a comprehensive cloud-based platform for managing PIM, Digital Asset Management (DAM), Content Syndication, and Digital Shelf Analytics (DSA). The platform enables companies, particularly those in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), to craft and optimize product content, thereby reducing time to market, increasing product sell-through, and enhancing personalized consumer experiences. Founded in Germany in 2000, Contentserv helps retailers, brands, and manufacturers execute strategies to offer better product offerings across various regions and sales channels.

The company boasts a client base of over 1,600 customers in 90 countries, with users reporting significant returns on investment, including a 30% reduction in time to market, 70% faster catalog creation, 75% more accurate product information, and expanded sales channel coverage in multiple languages. Fashion and consumer goods brands continue to navigate changing consumer trends and evolving stock-keeping units (SKUs), while diversifying sales channels including e-commerce sites, marketplaces, and social media.
