CloudSEK raises $19 million in funding

CloudSEK, a cybersecurity startup based in Bengaluru, has raised $19 million in its latest funding rounds. The Series A2 and B1 rounds saw participation from investors in India and the US, including Inflexor Ventures, Prana Ventures, Tenacity Ventures, and Commvault. Founded in 2015 by Rahul Sasi, CloudSEK aims to predict and prevent cyber threats before they escalate.

The company’s platform uses AI to identify early warning signs, such as leaked credentials or exposed APIs, weeks before an incident occurs. “We built CloudSEK to predict initial attack vectors and stop threats before they make headlines,” said Rahul Sasi, Co-founder and CEO of CloudSEK. “Our goal has always been to prevent incidents before they escalate.”

CloudSEK serves over 250 clients across banking, healthcare, technology, and the public sector.

The startup plans to use the newly raised capital to enhance its product innovation and expand globally, focusing on the US, UAE, and Asia Pacific markets. Today, over 60% of our new revenue comes from international markets, with the U.S. emerging as our fastest-growing region,” Sasi added.

We’ve achieved this scale while remaining cash flow positive.

The company has raised $26 million to date, including $7 million in Series A funding in 2021. CloudSEK plans to follow this round with a Series B2 extension to bring in new investors and facilitate partial exits for early backers. As cyber threats continue to evolve, the demand for innovative solutions like those offered by CloudSEK is expected to grow.

The startup’s proactive approach to cybersecurity sets it apart from conventional threat intelligence, which often focuses on compromise indicators after an attack.
