Bungie has introduced a new chess puzzle in Destiny 2 as part of the En Passant Triumph. The puzzle involves several cryptic steps that players must complete. Here’s a guide on how to start and solve this intricate puzzle.
Navigate to Eris Morn’s Flat from the HELM to find the chess puzzle. Enter the green portal to her Throne World. Head to the northwest edge of the platform and drop down into a hidden room featuring a chessboard.
Interact with the King piece to load into the Unknown Antechamber. Inside the Unknown Antechamber, you’ll find a large chessboard. To move pieces, stand on the piece-specific plate and shoot the tile to which you want the piece to move.
You can also remove pieces, convert enemy pieces to your side, undo moves, and reset the board as needed. The puzzles on the board will increase in difficulty.
Solving the en passant puzzle
Some key moves to progress the En Passant Triumph include:
Pawn: E4, F4
Knight: D4
Pawn: E6
Knight: D5
Pawn: D7
Knight: G7
Bishop: E5
Collect all four chess pieces from Eris’ flat to skip steps and progress directly and arrange them with the Pawn on F4 and A6. After completing the initial puzzles, interact with the water bowl to convert the board to the End Game stage. Here, you can place any piece and are given a frequency code.
Players found that combining their unique frequencies revealed a QR code leading to cryptic messages from Bungie on the Aion Network portal. Common portal codes include:

003 – Employee Handbook
007 – Code of Conduct
009 – Daily Schedule
Entering the code “11104” with your frequency from the End Game puzzle allows you to convert your setup to FEN chess notation to uncover further secrets. Thanks to player efforts, a free emblem code was discovered: JGN-PX4-DFN.
Redeem it on the Bungie website. After extensive community work, the final setup was detailed in the provided imagery. It unlocks a chest with substantial rewards, including Strange Coins, Ascendant Shards, Curios, an Exotic Cypher, and themed cosmetics.
