Samsung is rolling out a new update for the Galaxy Watch FE in the USA, specifically through Verizon. The latest firmware started rolling out earlier this week, and it is currently unclear whether the same update is available for Galaxy Watch FE models on other networks or the Wi-Fi-only version. The update for Verizon’s Galaxy Watch FE carries firmware version R866USQS1AYE9 and includes the May 2025 security patch, which focuses on improved security.

This marks the second significant system update for the Galaxy Watch FE on Verizon to date. Looking ahead, Samsung plans to launch the One UI 8 Watch beta program in the USA later this year, which will ultimately lead to a public release.

This beta program will be open to the Galaxy Watch FE, which is essentially a rebranded version of the 40mm Galaxy Watch 4, first released in 2024. To download the new update, Galaxy Watch FE users in the USA can open the Wearable app on their connected phone, select their Watch FE, access Watch settings, choose Watch software update, and tap “Download and install.” If the auto-update option is enabled, the update may have already been installed overnight.

Users can verify the update by checking if their current firmware version matches R866USQS1AYE9 in the About Watch section. In addition, the Galaxy Watch FE 4G is currently available at a $50 no-trade-in discount, making it priced at $199 from Samsung. For those interested in the latest software advancements and features from Samsung, stay tuned for the One UI 8 Watch beta program, which is scheduled to introduce new functionalities to Galaxy Watches later this year.
