NetherRealm Studios has revealed the full customization options for Ghostface in Mortal Kombat 1. Fans who purchased Early Access to the Khaos Reigns expansion can now see all of Ghostface’s alternate costumes and gear. Internet users have quickly found and shared images of Ghostface’s various costumes and masks.
There are six different costumes that the Woodsboro killer can wear during matches. Ghostface also has nine alternate masks to choose from, in addition to the standard mask. One interesting detail is that during Fatal Blow or Fatality sequences, Ghostface’s mask falls off to show Billy Loomis as the killer.
Billy Loomis was the main villain from the first Scream movie. There are also two other Ghostface figures that appear during gameplay to emphasize teamwork. Ghostface is available in Mortal Kombat 1 Early Access starting November 19.
He will be available to all players on November 26. Fans are excited to discuss how Ghostface plays in the game and the many Easter eggs that are included. Designing Ghostface for Mortal Kombat 1 involved several challenges for the developers at NetherRealm Studios.
They had to figure out how to translate the horror movie villain into a fighting game character. The technical artists and animators worked together to make sure Ghostface’s iconic costume looked good during fast-paced combat. They focused on adding extra character movements to convey emotions, since Ghostface’s face is always covered by the mask.
Ghostface customization details revealed
Sound is also very important for creating an authentic Ghostface experience. Actor Roger L.
Jackson returned to provide Ghostface’s signature voice from the Scream films. Ghostface’s moveset in Mortal Kombat 1 includes bloody Fatalities, an Animality, and Brutalities. The developers took inspiration from the classic Scream movies to design attacks that flow into each other for a grim but fun experience.
To perform Ghostface’s first Fatality, “Slashing the Fourth Wall,” players need to press the correct button while standing close to their opponent. This will cause Ghostface to stab them and splatter blood on the screen, breaking the fourth wall. The second Fatality is done by pressing a different button up close.
Ghostface will partially disembowel the opponent before a second Ghostface killer appears and stabs them in the head. For the Animality, Ghostface transforms into a vulture and pecks a hole in the opponent’s chest. He then rips off their head and part of their spine.
These gory moves showcase the horror elements Ghostface brings to Mortal Kombat. Fans are thrilled to have the Scream slasher join the Mortal Kombat roster. Mastering his shocking and creative Fatalities will add an exciting new dimension to the game.
Ghostface’s inclusion is a dream come true for many players.
