Honor is preparing to launch an upgraded version of the Honor Watch 5 smartwatch in China. The new device, identified by model number TUR-L19, was recently certified by China’s telecommunications certification authority. The TUR-L19 smartwatch features a round face with an octagonal bezel, a departure from the rectangular design of its predecessor.

It supports eSIM, Bluetooth calling, and satellite positioning technologies like GPS, BeiDou, and GLONASS. The watch is expected to run MagicOS and be equipped with NFC. The smartwatch houses a 480mAh battery and supports wireless recharging.

It is compatible with both China Mobile and China Unicom eSIM telecom operators. Measuring 45.6 x 39.4 x 11mm, the TUR-L19 features a 1.85-inch AMOLED color screen with a resolution of 450 x 390 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz. It contains various sensors, including acceleration, gyro, geomagnetic, heart rate (PPG), and ambient light.

Certification hints at upcoming launch

The device also includes a single button and a rotating crown for user interactions. One standout feature of the TUR-L19 is its impressive battery life.

The smartwatch offers 10 days of battery life in eSIM mode and up to 15 days in Bluetooth mode. While specific upgrades in hardware and software from the original Honor Watch 5 are not disclosed, the new version is expected to offer a more refined user experience. The Honor Watch 5, which the TUR-L19 aims to improve upon, is available in five colors: Pine Green, Obsidian Black, Morning Gold, Moon Shadow Gray, and Snow White.

It supports easily swappable straps, catering to diverse consumer preferences. Details regarding the official name, release date, and pricing of the TUR-L19 smartwatch have yet to be announced. However, the certification suggests that a launch is imminent.
