Jitin Prasada emphasized the importance of collective efforts in shaping digital policies that reflect the values of equality, transparency, and sustainability. He lauded India’s transformative journey under the Digital India initiative, noting monumental achievements such as UPI, Aadhaar, and the Bharat Net project, which have contributed to linking 95% of villages with 3G-4G connectivity and reducing the digital divide. The Minister also highlighted the flourishing startup ecosystem, with women-led startups thriving across more than 600 districts.
He stressed that government initiatives have brought technology to rural communities, offering vast opportunities nationwide. Addressing the transformative role of artificial intelligence, Sh. Jitin Prasada outlined the government’s vision to position India as a global leader in AI.

With a ₹10,000 crore allocation for the India AI Mission, the focus will be on democratizing AI benefits, fostering innovation, and ensuring technological self-reliance. India, with the world’s largest youth population and a thriving startup ecosystem, is on the brink of an AI revolution.
The Minister also brought attention to the environmental and security challenges posed by the rapid growth of the digital economy. India is taking proactive steps to reduce the carbon footprint of its digital infrastructure by promoting renewable energy and incentivizing green innovations. Cybersecurity remains a priority, with calls for robust infrastructure and real-time threat detection systems.
Shri S Krishnan, Secretary (MeitY), emphasized how digitalization has revolutionized access to information and highlighted the significant discussions and actions resulting from previous IIGF editions. He stressed the importance of internet resilience and continuity, ensuring stability in the face of disruptions. The forum addressed five crucial topics: empowering connections, legal and regulatory frameworks, responsible AI, building a greener and sustainable Internet, and trust and safety.
The event successfully emphasized that India is making significant strides in digital transformation, aiming for a sustainable, inclusive, and secure digital future.
