Mazda is recalling over 150,000 vehicles due to multiple defects found in recent models. The recalls affect the 2024-2025 CX-90 and 2025 CX-70 models equipped with a Dash Electrical Supply Unit (ESU). During vehicle startup, the defroster, seat belt warning, 360-degree view monitor functions, and the PHEV high-voltage battery cooling system may not function properly.

An ESU that does not function properly will increase the risk of a crash. To fix the issue, dealers will reprogram the Dash ESU with improved software for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be delivered by Dec.

Mazda is also recalling 38,926 of its 2024 CX-90 vehicles for a software issue. The engine may not restart after the idling stop feature (i-stop) turns off the engine due to a software issue. When an engine fails to restart, it will increase the risk of a crash.
