He stated that the Switch 2 is now “the fastest selling home video game console of all time.” In comparison, it took Sony 16 days to sell 2.1 million PS4 consoles and six weeks to reach 4.2 million units with the same model. Even the PS5, launched during the pandemic with significant chip supply constraints, took seven weeks to sell 4.4 million units. Nintendo’s success in meeting the high demand for a successor to the original Switch can be attributed to ensuring ample inventory in key markets.

In the UK, the Switch 2 launch is noted as the fourth best-selling console debut according to data from NielsenIQ, despite the relatively limited stock on its launch day.

Nintendo promises a battery life of between two and 6.5 hours, with a mixed test involving various games and features yielding about 3.5 hours.
