Nvidia is gearing up to launch two new affordable GPUs, the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060, to challenge AMD’s hold on the graphics card market. Rumors suggest the RTX 5060 Ti will be available as soon as April 16, with the standard RTX 5060 following in May. According to leaker Wxnod, the RTX 5060 Ti will come in 8GB and 16GB versions, aligning with previous speculations about its mid-April debut.

The RTX 5060, equipped with 8GB of VRAM, is expected to launch a month later. Despite facing several delays, consistent reports now indicate that the release is imminent. The actual time mentioned for the release, 9 pm, likely references an embargo timing from an Asian source, further corroborating the accuracy of these rumors.

Hong Kong-based tech site HKEPC claims that the RTX 5060 Ti will go on sale on April 16, with announcements anticipated for April 15.

Nvidia targets budget-conscious gamers

The RTX 5060 might also be revealed on April 15 but won’t be available in stores until May.

The purported final specifications for the RTX 5060 Ti indicate it will feature 4,608 CUDA Cores, a base clock of 2407MHz boosting up to 2572MHz, and a power usage of 180W. The key question remains whether Nvidia can produce sufficient stock to meet anticipated demand. Nvidia appears to be under pressure as AMD’s new offerings continue to reclaim market share.

The unveiling of these new, more affordable GPUs could be Nvidia’s strategy to counter AMD’s gains. AMD has only provided a vague Q2 timeframe for releasing its RX 9060, potentially giving Nvidia a crucial time advantage. This development in the GPU market could stir considerable interest and competition, especially among budget-conscious gamers looking for high-performance graphics cards at a lower price point.
