Perplexity AI has introduced a new Deep Research tool that is now available for free to all users. The tool is designed to conduct comprehensive research by performing multiple searches, reading through hundreds of sources, and generating detailed reports on its own. CEO Aravind Srinivas introduced the Perplexity Deep Research Agent as a quicker and more efficient option than other solutions.

While the tool is free to use with some limits, paid users can access up to 500 daily queries for $20 a month and get full research reports in under three minutes. “Our goal is to democratize ‘expertise on any topic’ and make it widely accessible and useful,” said Srinivas. The tool uses open-source models to keep performance high and costs low, making advanced research abilities available to many people.

The Deep Research tool works similarly to how humans do research. It searches, reads documents, and repeatedly improves its research plan.
