Samsung prepares to release new Galaxy S25 FE

Samsung is moving ahead with its next Fan Edition (FE) phone, the Galaxy S25 FE. The device is likely to launch before the end of this year. Sources have revealed that Samsung has started firmware development for the Galaxy S25 FE.

Specifically, the US unlocked variant with model number SM-S731U and firmware version S731USQU0AYDH is in the works. The Galaxy S25 FE is expected to run Android 16 and One UI 8.0 out of the box. It should receive up to seven major Android OS updates.

Initial details emerged seven months agosuggesting the Galaxy S25 FE will maintain a thinner design. However, it will likely feature the same Exynos 2400e chipset as the Galaxy S24 FE, contrary to earlier rumors of a switch to MediaTek processors.

The device is expected to come with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and at least 256GB of storage. The Galaxy S25 FE may see a selfie camera upgrade, featuring a 12MP front camera similar to the Galaxy A56.

The rear camera setup could include a 50MP+12MP+8MP triple-camera system. Battery capacity is expected to stay similar to its predecessor, with fast charging options of either 25W or 45W and 15W wireless charging. In addition to upgraded internals, the Galaxy S25 FE might feature stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint reader, and an IP67 dust and water resistance rating.

Samsung’s next Fan Edition phone

The Fan Edition line, which began with the highly successful Galaxy S20 FE 5G, continues to offer flagship features at a more affordable price point. However, a release was missed in 2021. As Samsung progresses with the Galaxy S25 FE, fans eagerly await more details about the device’s specifications and features.
