TwitchCon 2024 drew large crowds to San Diego for a weekend filled with gaming, streaming, and community building.

Attendees had the chance to meet their favorite streamers, compete in friendly competitions, and check out the latest streaming technology. It’s like a meet-up for the community that watches streams,” said Carlos Ramirez, who traveled from Los Angeles for his first TwitchCon experience.

He was excited to meet some of his favorite streamers in person. “It’s great to be up close to them and say hello. They’re real friendly people, so I’m pretty happy with the outcome,” Ramirez added.

The event attracted both veteran and new streamers alike. April Gomez, a streamer from North Carolina, was also attending her first TwitchCon.

My husband was in the military, and I thought, “Me and my friends play games; why not stream it?” Gomez said.

“It’s my first TwitchCon, so I’m putting my feet in the water for next year to know what more to expect.”

TwitchCon offered a variety of activities and experiences for attendees.

The convention also hosted live shows and events. The Twitch Rivals arena featured a mock debate called DebateLords with high-profile streamers. A TwitchCon Drag Showcase also took place during the weekend.

Outside of the convention center, attendees could participate in a Peloton installation that partnered with Games Done Quick to raise money through treadmills and bike activities. A Capcom happy hour was also held at the Coin Op Arcade. TwitchCon 2024 captured the diverse and vibrant spirit of the Twitch community.

From insightful interviews with Twitch executives and popular streamers to unexpected reunions with old friends, the convention provided a glimpse into the world of streaming and its dedicated fanbase. Looking ahead, TwitchCon will make its next stop in Rotterdam from May 31 to June 1, 2025, before returning to San Diego from October 17-19. As the Twitch community grows, TwitchCon remains a significant event for streamers and fans to connect, learn, and celebrate their shared passion.
