The GitHub coding platform has released some new statistics about its service. More than 3 million developers now use GitHub, up from 1 million in September 2011. In addition, it expects to add its 5 millionth code repository to its database sometime in the next couple of weeks.
To celebrate the milestones, GitHub is planning Thursday at Code Bass in San Francisco.
GitHub first launched April 2008.
