Novell Unveils Software Appliance Development Package

Created both for ISVs and enterprise IT departments, Novell’s Suse Appliance Toolkit enables the development of software appliances for deployment in a physical, virtual, or cloud infrastructure.

“A software appliance is a new way to package software, enterprise application software,” explains Novell’s Matt Richards. “Users buy one thing, called a software appliance. It makes the buying process easier; it makes the installation process easier.”

Enterprises will have to pay $100,000 for the toolkit, but ISVs can get it for free when they build their business model around Suse Enterprise Linux.
