According to recently published research, Americans pay about $1.09 per mobile app, while people in other parts of the world pay less than 20 cents. As a result, Americans account for more than 50 percent of mobile app revenue, even though Asians download more apps.

Those figures mean that, for now, developers will likely continue to target the majority of apps for North American users.
