IBM Launches New Tools for AIX-based Power7 Developers

IBM has announced the release of several new application development tools which it says give the users of IBM Power System servers and blades within AIX environments a modern, Eclipse-based application development environment for the first time ever.

The new releases include IBM Rational Developer for Power, IBM Rational Team Concert for Power Systems Software V2 and new compilers optimized for Power7. Using these tools, developers can take advantage of the performance benefits of Power 7 without rewriting their apps, boosting speed by as much as 30 percent.

IBM also released a new IBM Rational Host Access Transformation Services V7.5.1 (HATS) user interface modernization solution that makes it easier for developers to enable their existing applications to run on the iPhone and iPod Touch.
