Despite Economic Conditions, Application Deployment Software Market Still Showed GainsResearchers at IDC say the middleware market grew 2.2 percent in 2009.
According to the latest figures from market researcher IDC, the worldwide application deployment market was worth $14.9 billion in 2009, a 2.2 percent increase from the year before. That’s a much slower growth rate than 2008’s 9.7 percent and 2007’s 16.5 percent, but still a positive sign in light of the economic slowdown during the period.
The three top middleware vendors—IBM, Oracle and Microsoft—accounted for 52.5 percent of market revenue.
