Report: Developers Prefer OS X Over Linux

A new Evans Data survey finds that Mac OS X has become more popular as a development environment than Linux. According to the report, 7.9 percent of developers now use Mac OS as their primary development platform, while 5.6 percent use Linux. Windows remains the undisputed leader, however, with more 80 percent of developers preferring it.

When it comes to development targets, Linux keeps its edge over Macs, with about twice as many projects created for Linux as for OS X.
