Microsoft Offers webOS Devs Free Phones and Training

After HP announced its decision to stop manufacturing smartphones and tablets for the webOS platform, Microsoft made an offer to the developers disenfranchised by the decision. Windows Phone exec Brandon Watson tweeted, “To Any Published WebOS Devs: We’ll give you what you need to be successful on #WindowsPhone, incl. free phones, dev tools, and training, etc.”

Within 24 hours, more than 500 developers had responded.
