A new report from Piper Jaffray helps to explain why mobile development pros are more interested in building apps for iOS than for Android. Apps sold through Apple’s App Store have earned $4.9 billion for developers, while apps sold through the Google Marketplace had made just $330 million for developers. In other words, Android developers make 7 percent as much off downloads as iOS developers.
The report also reveals that only 1 percent of Android app downloads are paid, compared to 14 percent for iOS.
