Evans Data has released the results of a new survey ranking the various platform as a service cloud development platforms. VMware’s Cloud Foundry received the best scores, although IBM and Google were close behind.
“The top three competitors were very close, with one appealing to private cloud development, one to public and Cloud Foundry appealing to both,” said Evans Data CEO Janel Garvin. “This is important because many cloud deployments are hybrid clouds blending private, public and on-premises instances. Flexibility is key.”
VMware received top marks for reliability, supplied development tools and price for service and storage. IBM scored high on security, proven expertise and auto-scaling, and Google was praised for its market potential and vision for the future.
