Although Google has yet to confirm the numbers, app store watcher Distimo says that the Android Market now has more than 400,000 active apps. The Android Market reached 300,000 apps in August and 200,000 apps in April. Approximately 68 percent of the apps available for Android are free — an increase from 60 percent last April.
Apple’s App Store passed 400,000 apps last June. The Windows Phone Marketplace just passed 50,000 apps.
