A new report from Gartner predicts that a “Nexus of Forces,” including cloud, information, mobile and social initiatives, will have a disruptive impact on the enterprise software market over the next four years. By 2017, these forces will drive 26 percent of enterprise software spending, a total of $104 billion in new revenue for enterprise software development firms.
“While there has been a great deal of excitement from the vendor community regarding cloud, information, mobile, social, and other forces and technologies, adoption in organizations and businesses has yet to catch up with the hype,” stated Gartner’s Tom Eid. However, the firm believes that this Nexus of Forces will became mainstream over the next four years.
